Lectors

As Lectors at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, we proclaim God’s Word at the Liturgy.

Men and women with the gift of proclamation are invited to undergo training to serve as members of our Lector Ministry.

Proclaiming God’s Word effectively requires a willingness to work on communications skills in an ongoing training process. Lectors must have received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. If married, you must have received the Sacrament of Marriage in the Catholic Church.
