Friends in Deed has asked us to cover the following Sundays for the Friends in Deed Bad Weather Shelter 2025 Season:

April 13, 27
6:30 pm to 9:00 pm
Help fellow parishioners set up cots; welcome guests; and prepare, heat and serve meals at the Bad Weather Shelter at Trinity Lutheran Church, 977 E. Walnut St, Pasadena, CA 91106 (enter behind the church from Locust St.). The shelter opens when the forecast is 40 degrees or below, 40% chance of rain, or 40 mph winds.

Here is a description of the work to be done:
Volunteers should come at 6:30pm and will be done by 9:00-9:30pm. You should have a minimum of 8 people in your group. Volunteers help with shelter setup of cots, tables and chairs, will heat the meals and serve them, do client sign in and hand out blankets and other items. You are free to bring donations such as toiletries, socks, cold weather clothing, ponchos, treats, etc. to hand out. The day you are scheduled will be weather activated, but we will know 48 hours in advance if we will be open.
